The show home at 578 East Maddisons Road is our Maddison design, which features a spacious designer kitchen with a walk-in pantry. The kitchen is situated at the heart of the home, connecting with the open plan family/living area and also adjoining the separate media room. This layout has excellent indoor-outdoor flow and is ideal for everyday family life as well as entertaining friends and family of all ages.
The Maddison has a generous floor area of 221m² and a classic exterior style, which make it a great choice for building either on a lifestyle block or in a residential setting. The home has 3 bedrooms (including a master bedroom with ensuite and walk-in robe), and a study/library as well as a separate laundry, which leads through to the double garage.
576 East Maddisons Road

Meanwhile, at 576 East Maddisons Road you can view our most popular lay-out for modern living in the Burnham show home. This home has great living space with an open plan kitchen, dining and living area as well as a separate lounge. The galley-style kitchen also has a walk-in pantry.
One of the Burnham’s most desirable features is the three-car garaging, which gives you the option of storing that third vehicle or having a dedicated workshop space. The 209m² floor plan also includes plenty of storage cupboards. The Burnham’s master bedroom has an ensuite and walk-in robe, while the third bedroom is located near the entrance, giving you the flexibility to use it as an office for working from home.
If you are considering building a new home, it can be an exciting but also a daunting prospect. There are so many decisions to make regarding the style, size and lay-out of your home that it can be difficult to know where to start. Fortunately we have done a lot of the hard work for you by gathering together 25 of our most popular Today Homes home plans together in one handy book. The plans include three, four and even five bedroom homes. There are single storey and two storey options and plans perfect for smaller sites as well as designs ideally suited to larger lifestyle blocks.
Each of the 25 designs in the book includes an illustration as well as a detailed floor plan and information on the floor area and dimensions of the home. This makes it easy to quickly compare the features of each home and is particularly useful if you already have a section that you intend to build on.
While the Top 25 book makes an excellent decision-making tool for prospective home-builders, it is not by any means an exhaustive list of the Today Homes plans available. We have many more plans to choose from and each of our plans can be tailored to suit your individual needs and specific site requirements.
Our new Top 25 plan books are already proving popular so we recommend you visit one of our Canterbury showhomes soon to secure your own copy. While you are there, you will be able to walk through one of our homes and view the quality fixtures and fittings that we include in our homes as standard. You may also like to take the opportunity to have a chat with one of our new home consultants about the building process and what features you are looking for in your new home.
We have two brand new Rolleston showhomes opening in Farringdon soon.
The Maddison’s unique design maximises indoor-outdoor flow. With a designer kitchen and walk-in pantry, you will love entertaining friends and family here.
This home features our most popular lay-out for modern living. Three-car garaging means you will have room for all of the toys!

We are very happy with our first brand new home and love living here.
Building with Today Homes has been the right choice for us and we would feel comfortable recommending Today Homes. If we were to build again we would use them again.

While our athletes in Rio have been amassing a good haul of silver medals, Today Homes has also earned a silver award at the 2016 Canterbury Region House of the Year Awards.
As local Canterbury builders we were very proud to learn that we had achieved this silver award for a modern home we built in Marshlands. This 224m2 home was entered in the PlaceMakers New Home category for homes between $400,000 and $500,000.
Key design features of this award-winning home include monopitch roofing and vibrant yellow accents which flow through from the front door to the kitchen lights. The home is clad in plastered Rockcote Integra concrete panels with schist veneer used effectively to add interest.
We were thrilled with the top quality result we achieved for the owners of this home, which consists of three bedrooms, two bathrooms, three living spaces and a separate laundry. The glossy white kitchen, complete with a walk-in pantry, is a stand-out feature of the house. Also notable is the luxurious master bedroom with its tiled ensuite. Sweeping decking makes the most of the sunny backyard and the home’s indoor-outdoor flow. With all of this on offer, we are sure that the owners will enjoy entertaining in this home during the summer.
Modern with a twist
This well-designed Marshlands home is marvellously modern under monopitch roofing. Plastered Rockcote Integra concrete panels have the exterior covered. Designa Schist veneer adds a bit of rock-star appeal to the street frontage. Designed for happy family living, the home’s 224sqm floorplan embraces three bedrooms, two bathrooms, three living spaces and a separate laundry. The open-plan living area brings it all together.
Complete with walk-in pantry, the wonderful kitchen is ideal for feeding growing kids as well as preparing dinner parties for friends. The home enjoys great indoor-outdoor flow making it perfect for entertaining. Sweeping decking sets the scene for weekend brunch or sunset wine. The private backyard and lawn basks in all-day sun. The master bedroom promises added luxury for the owners. Floor-to-ceiling tiles grace the well-appointed ensuite. With good looks, a great layout and peaceful surroundings, this private home is a delight to live in.
Would you please convey to the management, staff, the builder and all subcontractors that were involved in the build of our Rolleston home - thanks. After living in the same house for 48 years the boss finally prised me out.
From the time we walked into your display home we were impressed, not only with the show homes, but by the staff.
With all the bad things one hears about builders we were pleased that we chose Today Homes as our builder. To have a new house built and the only maintenance that was required to fix after we moved in was adjust the hinges on the front door was bloody amazing! Especially compared to other builds I had heard about going on and on. This just proves the standard of your contractors.
We have lived in the house for just over a year and are very happy, none more so than Lyn. We wish you well for the future in the building industry and will have no hesitation to recommend your company to all.
Thank you for making our build such an easy and pleasant experience.
Lyn and Wally, Rolleston
We're the company you can depend on to complete your new home since 1987.
We continually sing the praises of Today Homes and recommend at any and every opportunity. Our experience with the build is that it went like clock work and weekly update mirrored what had been planned to happen. It was stress free and when it came to a small number of things at the end that we needed addressed its was easily remedied and again stress free.
We have been so pleased they had suggested a drop down ladder to utilise the space in the upstairs gable of the garage - one of the best things. The kitchen joiners and installers were wonderful to work with - especially with additional ideas and did an excellent job.
The builder - so easy to work with and again excellent work. The building site was always kept tidy. Everyone on the job are super nice people all the trades and they sing the praises of working with Today Homes as well. Right to the end with the cleaners coming in they spoke only of good things being employed to do this work as well.

After my home was deemed a rebuild I am delighted I chose Today Homes as my builder. Right from the beginning it has been straightforward. Please pass on my sincere thanks to Angela Porter and Brent Smith for making the process so easy, and for their professionalism and ease of communication. Thanks too to all the excellent tradesmen and contractors you use.
I have no hesitation in recommending Today Homes to other prospective home builders.
Robin and I would like you to pass on a big thank you to all the team at Today Homes involved in our rebuild. We are so happy to be in our new home for Christmas with our family from the UK. People that visit us are very impressed and very complimentary of our new home.
Please pass on our thanks to all involved with the building of our new home from beginning to end. If ever we have a chance to build again we would choose Today Homes without a doubt.

Canterbury building company Today Homes is looking forward to celebrating its 30th year building homes for families in the greater Christchurch region.
“Now that 2016 is well underway we are getting excited that next year will mark 30 years since we started Today Homes back in 1987”, company owner Graeme Sanders says.
Having survived the aftermath of the stock market crash in the 1980s and the effects of the global recession, Today Homes has seen lots of ups and downs in the local building industry.
“Obviously in the post-earthquake environment there has been a lot of building activity happening in the region over the past few years,” Graeme says.
“Many companies have understandably come into the region from outside or tried to expand rapidly to take advantage of the need for new housing to replace that which has been lost. However for us it is very much a case of business as usual and continuing what we have been doing since we started,” he says.
Graeme says that Today Homes has always had a “steady as she goes” approach.
“There is a temptation for companies to try and make hay while the sun shines, as it were. However I have always been very careful to avoid over-committing our team,” Graeme says.
“We have been very privileged to have been able to help so many Christchurch families to move on with their lives by building them new homes. Our aim is to build houses that will meet the needs of Cantabrians both now and in the future, and we intend to keep doing this for many years to come,” Graeme says.
